Ransiri Fernando has over 25 years of cumulative litigation experience acquired internationally and in Canada. He was called to the Bar in Sri Lanka in 1989 where he served as a prosecutor and then as a general litigation lawyer. In the year 2014 Ransiri was called to the Bar in BC after he successfully challenged the transition examinations conducted by the National Committee on Accreditation. Post call, he has worked as a staff lawyer for the Legal Aid Commission in Saskatchewan, as a general litigator at Binpal & Associates, and an associate lawyer at Equity Law Group in Surrey BC. He joins Kaushal Law Corporation with additional experience gained in the field of workers compensation law and policies after working as a case manager for Work Safe BC
Ransiri has tremendous court experience. He undertakes litigation from builders’ liens, breach of contract, injunctions to negligence and serious personal injury. In criminal litigation he has defended in cases involving sexual assault, spousal assault, attempted murder, firearms, driving offences and break and enter.
